Constituent

How ARK refers to individuals and organizations in the system. Synonymous with the term “account(s)”; there are 4 types (Individuals, Households, Organizations, Group/Committees)

Constituency

Defines the affiliation of a constituent with the Associated. Constituencies reflect the way a constituent relates to us as an organization (committee member, event registrant, donor, etc.). Active constituencies can be found on a constituent record summary (above the line) while both active and inactive constituencies can be found  on the Constituencies tab of a constituent’s account.

Covered Credit

See “Credit”

Credit

There are a variety of ways that donors get recognized for their gifts, depending on how the gift is given.

Hard credit is given to the donor who made the gift. Ex: Harry makes a $100 gift so he has $100 hard credit.

Covered credit is given to a constituent that the donor also wants to get recognized for the gift. Ex: Harry wants his son Harvey to be recognized for his $100 gift. Harvey has $100 soft credit.

Joint credit is given to the spouse of a donor if the donor wants their spouse to be part of the gift. Ex: Harry wants his wife Harriet to be recognized for his $100 gift. Harriet has $100 joint credit

Household credit is the sum of Hard gifts from two spouses in a household. Ex: Instead of receiving joint credit for Harry’s $100 gift, Harriet decides to give her own $100 gift. Now Harriet has $100 hard credit and both Harriet and Harry have $200 household credit.

Matching gift is when a donor’s gift is matched by their employer.

Credit details can be found by selecting the Has revenue constituency link on a constituent record summary (above the line) or by selecting Revenue and recognition under More information on the Explorer Bar.
